Braintree hopes to make it two from two

Data communications specialists Braintree Communications has been short-listed for its second national IT awards in as many months. Braintree, who recently won the Euro High-Tech Competition, has been short-listed for the Secrets of Australian IT Innovation Competition.

“It has been a very exciting time for Braintree, winning the Euro High-Tech Awards, our business development tours to the UK, Europe and Asia and now short-listed for our second national IT awards,” said Peter Hall, Braintree Communications Chief Operating Officer.

The product that has seen Braintree through to the next stage is a unique network gateway product targeted at the telecommunications and retailing industries. This unique gateway offers a fully integrated solution that simplifies retailer’s communications network by consolidating all communication mediums including EFTPOS terminals into a single ISDN connection.

The competition will provide Braintree with an exclusive opportunity to present to the delegates of the World Congress on IT in Adelaide early next year if they are successful. The Congress delegates will include CEO’s of potential partners, customer and investors creating influential exposure for the Queensland-based communications company to pursue their international growth plans.

Braintree’s network gateway has been successfully deployed throughout Australia through Telstra’s ISDN network called Argent. Braintree envisages saturation of the domestic market within 18 months and therefore needs to identify key strategic growth markets. They have identified the UK, Europe, Asia and the US in particular as holding significant opportunities for the network gateway.

“It was vital for us to develop international relationships to sustain our current growth. We have developed strong relationships from our visits to the UK, Europe and Asia that we now need to expand on”.

Speaking on the competition Peter said, “Not only will we have the opportunity to present to influential people in IT who hold significant opportunities for us internationally but we will also be recognised as one of the leading IT innovators in Australia which adds further credibility”.

For the past ten years Braintree has been providing specialist customised communications solutions for some of Australia’s largest multi-national companies like Telstra, Boeing, Ericsson, Cashcard and Jetset to name a few.

Braintree hopes to make it two from two when the second round of assessing takes place in two weeks when the winner of the competition will be announced.
